Crete is the largest island Greece and also one of the most popular places in Greece. Crete has got 2 major airports that serve the huge island, Nikos Kazantzakis in Heraklion, Daskalogiannis in Chania are international airports. There is also a small airport in Crete that serves more internal routes mainly to other parts of Greece. There are a number of cities in Crete and by far the largest is Heraklion which is also the capital of the island. The island of Crete is surrounded by sea which means there are plenty of beaches and water activities. There are some really nice attractions to see in Crete like the St. Mark Basilica which also has an Art Gallery inside. You can also explore Crete’s mountainous landscape which is well worth exploring. The climate Crete is generally mild in the winter and hot in the summer.
