A world unto its own, Amalfi sets itself apart with its white houses perched on rocks that rise out of the sea to provide a foundation for winding streets, the Ancient Arsenal monuments and a wonderful Mediterranean climate. The Amalfi Cathedral is worth a visit as well as other historical landmarks, but a trip to Amalfi is really not complete without sampling its sensational seafood as reward for a day admiring the water views from any number of charming cafes around town.
