The exotic Balearic Islands form an archipelago of stunning holiday islands right off the Mediterranean coast of Spain. The largest of the three is Mallorca and in the past two decades, it has become one of the most popular sun and sea destinations in Spain for tourists from all over the world. Some parts of it, around the southern coastline are beautifully built up with high-rise hotels and apartments. The second Island is Ibiza, which extremely famous for its rave scene and party lifestyle. Away from Ibiza Town however, the island is remarkably rural and there is much to explore. There is also a narrow channel that separates Ibiza from the third Island - Formentera, the smallest inhabited Balearic, which offers soft white sands and stunning beaches, but can only be accessed by ferry. Both Mallorca and Ibiza have excellent beaches, but tourist development on Menorca quite low key and therefore the island attracts families and older holidaymakers.
