Playa de la Arena used to be a fishing village situated on the west coast of Tenerife, and today it is one of three separate resorts; Los Gigantes, Puerto Santiago and Playa la Arena) that have all now merged into one. Playa de la Arena is the most modern out of the three and has beautiful Blue Flag black sand beaches. There is also a promenade, which runs along the seafront, packed with a wide range of restaurants, a few bars, and shops. Playa de la Arena has much to offer apart from relaxing on the stunning beaches or sampling local food. You can choose to go on a boat trip to some of the resort’s neighbours such as Los Gigantes, or go wale watching, take excursions to the nearby village of Masca or a cable car ride up Mount Teide. To top it all, the Tenerife Airport is less than 40 mines away from Playa de la Arena, Spain, which makes it perfect for visitors to access.
