General information:This hotel is named after the famous naval hero Lord Nelson's beloved and beautiful mistress, Lady Emma Hamilton. This listed historical building has been around since 1470, at which time it was divided into three separate houses. These were eventually purchased by the merchant Lorens Erdtman, who converted them into a single spacious home for himself. \\"Well from the 1300s\"\"In 1975 the building was bought by Majlis and Gunnar Bengtsson, who refurbished the property and transformed it into a hotel. At the basement level we have something of a cultural treasure - an old well dating back to the 1300s! It was here that many residents of the Old Town fetched their water in those days. Today the well is used by our guests for taking a cool dip.Location:Central location - 10 mins to City and Central Station. Area:Situated in Stockholm\'s Old Town, just a few steps from the Royal Palace, within easy walking distance of the city\'s attractions.Recreation:Our cosy sauna with an open fireplace and a well from the 13th century (!) is availble to book for two hour session. We serve light meals or snacks with coffe, tea or drinks in our Bistro Emma between 12 noon and 10 pm.During the winter months (11 November- 18 February), we serve afternoon tea Saturdays and Sundays (with the exception of 23 and 24 and 30 and 31 December) in Bistro Emma.Rooms:All rooms are named after a regional flower, painted on the door by Swedish artist Ingrid Svensson. A sense of the past is experienced each room as they all feature a traditional painting from the region of Dalarna over the bed and each is furnished with an antique rustic cupboard, containing an antique (empty!) spirits bottle. Rooms have bath/and/or shower, working desk, Internet access and Cable TV.**All girls, women and ladies who check into our single room at the Lady Hamilton Hotel i Stockholm Old Town receive a \"\"Ladyroom\"\" and a basket full of surprises for a pleasurable stay.**"
